Search

Find Contact

Finds one contact in the authorized Bahasha organization by either:

  • Exact normalized phone number, or
  • Exact case-insensitive email address.

Phone numbers are normalized before matching. For predictable results, provide the full international number, including the country code.

The search never returns contacts from another organization. If no exact match exists, the search returns no result and the Zap can continue through its configured not-found behavior.

Find or Create Contact

Zapier pairs Find Contact with Create Contact to provide a standard Find or Create Contact workflow:

  1. Search for an exact phone number or email.
  2. Return the existing contact when found.
  3. Create a new contact using the mapped creation fields when no match exists.

Use this component when a form, CRM, spreadsheet, or another source may contain people who already exist in Bahasha.

Contact dropdown

Actions that require an existing contact provide a dynamic dropdown populated from the authorized Bahasha organization. If a recently created contact is not visible, refresh the field in the Zap editor.

Avoiding duplicates

  • Prefer an international phone number as the primary lookup value.
  • Keep email addresses trimmed and consistently formatted.
  • Use Find or Create instead of running Create Contact directly when duplicate prevention is important.
